How associate public officials' attributes to the Digital Mobile Key or Citizen Card?
Requesting the association of attributes
Go to the Imprensa Nacional Casa da Moeda (INCM) - Diário da República website. You will need to authenticate yourself with your Portuguese Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key (CMD).
Once authenticated, you will need to enter the following data:
- type and number of the appointment act
- number and date of publication in the Diário da República Eletrónico (DRE)
- Legal Person Identification Number (NIPC) of the organisation where you hold the position.
On the ‘Atributos de Cargos Dirigentes’ screen, choose the option ‘Pedido para ser adicionado um novo atributo de dirigente’.
The request to associate attributes of public officials will be validated by Imprensa Nacional Casa da Moeda (INCM). You will receive a notification to the email address you provided during the request.
Uploading professional attributes
Once you've received the email confirming that your public officer attributes have been validated, you need to upload the attributes to the Autenticação.gov desktop application.
If you don't upload your attributes, you'll only be able to sign as a citizen.
To load the attributes, follow the steps below:

If you don't already have it installed, download and install the Autenticação.gov desktop application

Open the application and click on the settings (cog symbol below)

Click on the ‘Atributos Profissionais’ tab

Choose ‘Entidade: Diário da República Eletrónico’ from the list

You can load the attributes by authenticating yourself with your Portuguese Citizen Card or Digital Mobile Key (CMD).
Authenticate and sign digital documents with attributes of public officials
After associating and uploading the attributes, you can authenticate yourself and sign digital documents in the capacity and powers of the position you hold as a public official.
To sign digital documents with public officer attributes, use the Autenticação.gov desktop application, choosing ‘Assinatura’ and then ‘Opções avançadas’.
