What is the Document Container?
It's a gov.pt application where you can:
- upload, create and manage documents and folders
- receive documents issued by public entities
- consult, edit and share documents and folders with third parties
- generate and make available QR codes and links to access documents for third parties
- define and manage alerts you want to receive
- among other functionalities.

How to access the Document Container
To access the Document Container you need to authenticate yourself on the gov.pt portal with one of these means of authentication:
- Portuguese Citizen Card (with smartcard reader and PIN codes).
- Digital Mobile Key (CMD)
- Digital Certificate (for notaries, lawyers and solicitors).
If you represent a company or public administration entity and want to join the Document Container to issue digital documents to citizens, contact the Administrative Modernisation Agency (AMA) to formalise a registration request.
Once your registration with the Document Container has been approved, you will be able to designate other representatives and their access to the Document Container.
