The new gov.pt portal is here!

30.09.2024

gov.pt is the new single portal for accessing public services in Portugal, replacing the ePortugal portal as the entry point for information and digital services from the public administration.

As well as a new image, the gov.pt portal brings with it a more efficient organisation of content on the pages, greater focus on the search tool and simpler, more intuitive portal navigation. All to make it easier and quicker to find the information you need. gov.pt was created to offer its users a new and improved digital experience, based on the Ágora Design System - the Portuguese graphic benchmark for digital services.

The improvements were implemented based on a process of research and interviews, including interviews with people representing various age groups, literacy levels, geographies and special needs.

To ensure a smooth transition between the old portal and the new one, all links pointing to eportugal.gov.pt will now go to the new equivalent pages on the gov.pt portal.

New services and functionalities

Among the new features at the launch of the gov.pt portal are two services included in the support measures for higher education students:

There are more services scheduled to be launched soon, in a strategy of continuous evolution and making services available to citizens.

The new Reserved Area of the gov.pt portal also has new features and eliminates the need for a user account to log in to the portal. Find out more on the presentation page of the new Reserved Area.

gov.pt is more than a portal

The launch of the gov.pt portal is part of a process of restructuring digital services, focusing on omnichannel interaction between citizens, companies and the state. By the end of the first quarter of 2025, the gov.pt portal is expected to be associated with a mobile app and other channels, such as face-to-face and telephone, to ensure a public service base that cuts across all channels.
